It has been a busy couple of months. From our usual weekly meetings where many are either knitting/crocheting for Queen Alexandra Neonatal Intensive Care Unit creating baby hats and cardigans with others making items to send out to Ukraine, blankets and now including hats, scarves and gloves ready for winter. Joy has also been collecting food, toiletries , candles (used and new) she has been keeping us updated on what is required and showing us pictures of the people of Ukraine receiving our goods. Everything is so needed we haven't forgotten pets either and food has been gathered to go out on the next transport.

Rachel Webber visited us and played a game of 'Getting to Know You' where we had to gather in tables of 3 or 4 and ask each other questions and we had to memorise these for after a game of Bingo where Rachel got us all guessing if we had the answers right!

Jane Glennie came to visit us to talk to us about how we should drink tea and its origins into this country and made it our national drink. She came dressed in 1940/50's style dress and we had our best china set out on the tables. Should our pinkies stick out or not? Not apparently, as it was deemed crude and only the 'lower classes' did this! We had a lot of fun with Jane as Mrs Cox treating us as her staff

On Monday September 30th we are holding our Macmillan Coffee Morning, there will be a dedication board, a game or two and of course, a Raffle! Please take the time to come along and join us for coffee and cake for £3 and other cakes will be available to purchase. Our experienced members have also been busy creating craft items to sell, a donation will be made towards our Macmillan appeal so the more you buy the more they donate! You don't need cash to donate to Macmillan we have a QR code which will direct you to their site where you can make your donation. We look forward to seeing you on Monday.
