Women at War on the Trainlines

At the end of September we had the knowledgeable Dan Ball from the Watercress Line return to inform us more about the roles women took during the war. Lots of insites from Driving the trains to working on the traintrack - very phsycial work. But whe the war ended wives were expected to going back to their normal lives of caring for house, husband and children for many this was a wrench away from their independence they had gained. A few were able to stay and continue working alongside the men.
