Who Are We?

CHAT2US Trustees'

CHAT2US Volunteers come from all walks of life, and they come to us because they enjoy meeting people and care about their lives.

Jeanette is our Project Manager, and at present Treasurer, too! She is also the main lady if you have problems filling in forms, especially for disability benefits. Jeanette has a secretarial background and worked at Royal Hospital Haslar and Queen Alexandra Hospital.  She has gone through a few problems in her life so is just the lady when you need to solve a problem.

Su is our Autism Abassador and is there to give us the help we need when speaking to anyone with an autism trait.

Having a form of autism, she reminds us that everyone of us is different, and can be mildly or more severely affected by autism.  She has trained doctors and nurses at local hospitals on how to care for people with all forms of autism;  from going into hospital which can be so difficult for a lot of people but more so if you are on the autism spectrum, to moving home.

Leslie has now stepped down from Volunteering in our Social Chats and being a Trustee for our group. We really must thank her for her 8years of service. Leslie has been avid about the work we do, Thank you for being there supporting Jeanette every week.

We can now announce the lovely Charlie Reilly is our new Trustee and from August 4th will be running a Craft Workshop after the Social morning. This will run from 1.15 until 3pm at the same cost of £3, a day's entertainment for just £6!

Our Volunteers

We are very lucky to receive Volunteers who have been directed to us from Gosport Voluntary Action and other groups in the area. People who have seen one of our leaflets and thought "I'd love to do that!" I must say we have had some very lovely people stay with us, some just for a few months and some for years all who have made a big impression on the group with their knowledge and lovely smiles.

We are now July 2025 and I would like to say a big thank you to them all and to. Ginny, Wendy, Diane and Kitty who are Volunteering with us now and Su our Trustee/Autism Ambassador.
