December 2025, I asked Joy (our local coordinator for Ukraine)for an update on how CHAT2Us members and her fellow helpers have been supporting Ukraine.

Joy says,"During the time we have supported Ukraine we have been busy knitting/crocheting squares which have been stitched into blankets. To date, we have sent over 427 blankets but as well as the blankets we have had other donations, such as knitwear and toiletries from CHAT members. CHAT has helped with some financial support too. With this the group (New Forest for Ukraine Group) has funded some 50 whistles, which were distributed to school children."

Latest Needs

We urgently need physical aid to send to displaced Ukrainians requiring support.  Our needs flex with the seasons and this autumn/winter (in addition to the normal goods), the following are urgently needed:​

• Food including instant food such as Noodles, Rice, Soups and Sweets

• Medical supplies such as off-the-shelf painkillers, lotions, first aid and dressings. Sorry no PPE or prescription drugs.

• Medical equipment (mobility aids, hospital equipment, instruments, monitors)

• Toiletries, personal hygiene, wet wipes

• Generators

• Power banks >= 10,000 mAh

• Candles

• LED Torches and batteries

• Sleeping Bags

• Seasonal clothing and shoes (women and children most urgent)

• Underwear for men and women

• Heavy Duty Boots and socks

• Camping Stoves (no gas canisters please)​

• Clean Duvets, Pillows and Blankets

• Pet Evacuation Supplies (cages / accessories / cat and dog food / treatments)
